      Stimson picks up first point

Mark Stimson earned his first point as Barnet manager after Burton held them to a drab stalemate at Underhill.

New-signing Mark Marshall offered an early threat for the Bees with his pace on the right but their first chance fell to Glenn Poole, whose speculative chip drifted over on six minutes. But the visitors gradually gained a foothold in the game as Greg Pearson's shot on the turn was deflected wide before he tested keeper Jake Cole with a low strike from long range midway through the first half. Barnet created a decent opening after half an hour when Ricky Holmes fed Mark Byrne but Brewers keeper Adam Legzdins denied the on-loan Nottingham Forest man before Burton went close when Cole saved well from Russell Penn's skidding 30-yarder. The best chance for the hosts did not come until the 50th minute when Holmes turned away from Darren Moore before seeing his curling effort brilliantly saved by Legzdins. Burton thought they had won it on the hour when Moore headed home Adam Bolder's corner, but the effort was ruled out for a foul Cole as the Brewers made it two goalless draws in two league games.
