Frenchman completes Spanish switch

French wing-back Abdoulay Konko has completed his move to Primera Liga giants Sevilla from Genoa. The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract at Sanchez Pizjuan and has a 60million euros release clause written into the deal. He is seen as a direct replacement for the Barcelona-bound Daniel Alves, after the Brazilian full-back agreed to join the Catalan side in early June. A statement released by Sevilla expressed the club's delight at luring Konko away from Italy, especially as they were not the only club chasing his signature. "A footballer with great stamina, great control and great in the air, Konko has turned into one of the most desired players of the summer, making Sevilla sweat while negotiating with other clubs," read the statement. "The only thing left to do to make it official is for Konko's agent to turn in a few documents." Meanwhile, Sevilla have also signed Cameroon striker Christian Pouga from Swiss side AC Bellinzona. The 22 -year-old, who has also represented FC Zurich, scored 18 goals last season to help Bellinzona into the Swiss top flight and is regarded as a hot prospect for the future.
