Midfielder ruled out for up to five weeks

Villarreal midfielder Sebastian Eguren has been ruled out of action for up to five weeks after suffering injury while on international duty. The Uruguay international ruptured a muscle in his country's World Cup qualifying defeat to Argentina on Saturday and is now facing a period of rehabilitation. Eguren looks set to be sidelined until late November and, if that recovery time is correct, he will miss up to six Primera Liga matches. The 27-year-old will also be absent for the home and away UEFA Champions League meetings with Aalborg, but he could return for the visit of Manchester United on 25th November. Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini is disappointed by Eguren's absence, telling Spanish media: "This is bad news for us because now we enter a phase of the season with lots of games in La Liga and the Champions League."
