Spaniards still keen to claim points on goalkeeper accusation

Sevilla are readying a fresh appeal to get their Europa League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain overturned. Los Nervionenses ran out 1-0 losers at home to the Ligue 1 outfit last month but the Spanish side complained to Uefa over PSG's goalkeeper Apoula Edel. The 24-year-old Cameroon-born custodian was accused of falsifying documents to enable himself to play for Armenia, which would have rendered his registration with PSG illegal under Uefa guidelines. But Edel was cleared of any wrong-doing on 24th September after a police investigation in France and subsequently Europe's governing body were happy to maintain the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan result. But it appears Sevilla, who won the Europa League back to back in 2005 and 2006 when it was called the Uefa Cup, are refusing to give up on the matter. "Sevilla are preparing an appeal," said the Spanish club's lawyer Juan de Dios Crespo Perez, adding that they had until midday Wednesday to lodge their appeal to European football's governing body.
