Yobo on the mark for Nigeria

Image: Yobo: Opening the scoring in a vital 2-0 win for Nigeria

Joseph Yobo opened the scoring for Nigeria in their 2-0 win away at Madagascar in a crucial African Nations Cup qualifier.

Obinna also nets in 2-0 win

Everton defender Joseph Yobo scored the opening goal for Nigeria in their 2-0 win away at Madagascar in a crucial African Nations Cup qualifier. Former West Ham winger Victor Obinna scored the second goal to seal a win that draws the Super Eagles level with Guinea at the top of Group B. Captain Yobo, who is keen to leave Goodison Park, broke the deadlock in the 68th minute when he stabbed home from close range following John Obi Mikel's corner. Obinna then doubled the advantage eight minutes later when he fired home from long-range. Guinea can pull back clear of Samson Siaisa's men at the top of the table should they beat Ethiopia on Sunday. Nigeria will then host Guinea in what could be a decisive final qualifier next month.
