Experienced striker not confident of reaching a deal with Pool

Blackpool striker Brett Ormerod is open to offers after failing to agree a new deal with the Championship side. The 35-year-old was on the released list of players at the end of the season but there was an understanding he would be offered new terms. Blackpool chief Ian Holloway would like to use the marksman's wealth of experience to mentor young players at the club, which is an offer that has whetted Ormerod's desire to remain with the Lancashire outfit. His legendary status at the club is confirmed following two spells which have yielded 61 goals in 215 appearances, but it appears he has a challenge convincing Seasiders chairman Karl Oyston he is worth a new deal.

Options

"I'm not holding my breath," he told the Blackpool Gazette on his chances of being offered a new deal. "I haven't managed to come to an agreement with Blackpool. I've exchanged a few texts with Karl Oyston and have left it at that. I'm considering my options and I'm open to offers. "My agent is speaking with clubs but nothing is lined up yet. I'm just back from two weeks away and I'll see what my career options are."
