Stanley hopeful over targets

Accrington are to hold talks with former Premier League footballer Brett Ormerod and hope to sign Liverpool teenager Lewis Hatch.

Hatch has been part of Liverpool Under-18s coached by former Stanley midfielder Mike Marsh. "Lewis is one of those who can play anywhere. He's a good footballer who knows how to adapt," said Marsh. Ormerod, who started his career with Accrington, has previously stated a desire to remain at current club Blackpool, but is willing to listen to other offers. Stanley's assistant manager Leam Richardson is a friend of Ormerod's and remains hopeful a deal can be struck. "I think there will always be interest from Brett because he loves the club and wants us to do well," Richardson said. "I think he said in an interview once that he would like to finish his career at Accrington so we'll have to see if that's still the case. Certainly it would be really nice if he did."
