Darby backs double challenge

Stephen Darby is confident Bradford can enjoy continued success on two fronts as they chase league promotion and cup glory.

The Bantams remain three points off an automatic promotion spot in League Two and will take a two-goal lead to Villa Park in the return leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final clash with Aston Villa on January 22. Phil Parkinson's side slipped up 2-0 at struggling Barnet in their last league outing, but Darby insists his team's sensational cup upsets have not been a distraction. "I don't think they have been at all," the defender said. "I can understand people thinking the Villa game was on our minds at Barnet, but it wasn't. "I think that's what we've done well this year, the fact that we can change our focus from the league to the cup and put things to one side and that's what we've done. "We're only three points off the automatic promotion places and we're still in a good position, so I think we've done well so far this season. "We've had quite a few injuries this season, but we've got a good squad here and when players have been called on we've done well and we have a great team spirit, so what ever team the gaffer picks everyone will be ready."
