Honduras star insists he will be fit for World Cup opener

Honduras midfielder Wilson Palacios has shrugged off injury concerns by insisting he will be fit to play in the World Cup. The Tottenham player was stretchered off in his country's final warm-up against Romania at the weekend. He suffered an injury to his shin during the 3-0 defeat in Austria and was taken to hospital to undergo scans on the problem, which revealed an abductor muscle injury. But Palacios insists he will be fit to feature in Honduras' World Cup Group H opener against Chile on 16th June. He told La Prensa: "I suppose I pulled an abductor but I feel much better. Thank God it's nothing serious." Honduras, who are appearing in the finals for only the second time, also face European champions Spain and then Switzerland in Group H.
