Our latest gallops report comes with news from Sir Michael Stoute's yard.

Latest Racing Stories

Sir Michael Stoute often finds plenty of winners at this time of year and our gallops reporter has the latest on his team. ENROL is a filly who should enjoy the cut in the ground through the autumn and she showed her well-being with a pleasing spin ahead of a trip to Newbury on Friday. Her prowess was a tad dented when she flopped on her latest start, although she could never recover from a slow start and was probably unsuited by the sharp turns of Chester. Previously she had stayed on well to claim minor honours in a decent race at Pontefract and, as she is by Pivotal, deep ground at Newbury should not inconvenience her in the Dubai Duty Free Cup. MODERN TUTOR has looked good in his work since scoring on his latest start and with that confidence boost behind him should go well in a mile handicap at Newmarket on Saturday. ASTONISHING was another eyecatcher and although a beaten favourite last time, he looks in the mood to bounce back in a fillies' handicap on the same card. DREAM WILD is hard to weigh up, but seems in good order and is set to run before the end of the month, while MADAME VESTRIS breezed nicely. Both horses hold entries at Kempton on Monday.. Stoute has some well-regarded two-year-olds limbering up to run - none more promising than ALMUHEET. Despite being on the small side, he showed he knew his job with a lightning break from the gate on his July course debut and always had his rivals covered, his pilot letting his impressive finishing kick put the race to bed. He has subsequently done everything right and should be hard to beat in the novice stakes at Leicester on Monday. HEHO shares the same sire - Dansili - and she took the eye getting ready for a possible debut run at Kempton next Monday. She should serve her trainer well in the silks of the Rothschild family.
